Ogulin is town where I live. It's a town in north - western Croatia, in Karlovac County. He is located in halfway between Zagreb and Rijeka.

Geographical location |
Ogulin is medium - sized town. According to the census of 2011 Ogulin and his surrounding have about 14 000 inhabitants, while just town has about 8 000 inhabitants. My historical town was founded in 15th century around the castle of the noble family Frankopan. Ogulin was named Julija's Town on the first geographical map of Croatia. Julija's Town is known for the legend of Đula, who threw herself into the abyss of the River Dobra because of an unhappy love.

Center of the town is Park of king Tomislav. In park is located fountain
Cesarovac. The legend says that if women drinks water from fountain
she'll stay forever young, and if man drinks water he'll marry a girl
from Ogulin.

The most famous Croatian's writer for children was born in my town.
That's Ivana Brlić - Mažuranić. As a young girl, she experienced Ogulin
in amazing way, and that she wrote in her autobiography. Her tales are
extremly valuable cultural and international potential. According to
them, Ogulin become the Homeland of Fairy Tales. Every year in June, we
have a Festival of Fairy Tales in honor to Ivana Brlić - Mažuranić.

Mountain Klek |
Klek is mountain that dominates above the town. When time is nice, from
the top of the mountain you can see the cathedral in Zagreb. The true
jewel of my town is Lake Sabljaci. Eleventh lake in Croatia, many people
call it Ogulin "sea". Near Ogulin is Bjelolasica, Croatian Olympic
Center. From the top of Bjelolasica you can see a beautiful view:
Kvarner bay.

The only thing I don't like in Ogulin is that we don't have many places where we can go out and have fun. We even don't have cinema!! But regardless, I love town where I grew up!
